How Big Is A Million - Winner's Choice of January's Free Book Give Away

I am thrilled to announce that Elaine is the winner of January's Free Book Give Away. She chose the book How Big Is A Million? (Picture Books) because she wanted to give it to her nephew.

This is a great book! It is the story of Pipkin the Penguin who wants to know How Big Is A Million? (Picture Books) . It's a great teaching tool to let kids know the number concepts of 1, 10, 100, 1,000 and 1,000,000. In a pocket on the back of the book is a poster that literally shows Pipkin and his mom looking at 1,000,000 stats. It's very mind boggling to look at that poster, because I'm sure I'm like you - I've never seen exactly 1,000,000 of any particular thing before.

Am I the only person on the planet who remembers Pipkin?

Wow! I love reading with my son, and we go to the library at least once a week. Somehow, I've never read any of the Pipkin books. I can't wait to start getting them. I'm always on the lookout for great books that I can also incorporate with a learning activity. Thanks!
